We will use Egeria to compute the revenue of a lemonade store in this tutorial. We will start with a simple sheet for 31 days and a single product and than extend the model to support multiple products.
Lemonade Tutorial Part 2: Hierarchies and Relations
We will extend the lemonade stand model from the first part of the tutorial to track sales for multiple salespeople. We will create a flat salesperson dimension first. We than assign a point of sale to each salesperson to make the new dimension a hierarchy.
Lemonade Tutorial Part 3: Sharing a Document
We will use the "Share" button to share a part of the document we have created in the previous step with one of the salespeople.
Lemonade Tutorial Part 4: Workflows, Cell Formatting and Visibility
We will add simple workflow functionality to our sample document, so that a salesperson can submit his numbers to a manager. Cell Formatting and Cell Visibility concepts are explained in this Video.
Advanced example: Sales planning
This video shows a sales planning model for a fictional globally active bicycle manufacturing company. The system collects company's sales data and costs from several hundreds of shops scattered around the globe. The manufacturing cost figures are imported from a relational database. This data is aggregated in real-time to produce a company-wide income statement. The sales figures are collected in shop's local currency for each shop and the results are converted into company's currency (USD). This allow for easy simulation of how exchange rate changes affect the company's income statement.
